Umaibou is possibly the most well known snack in Japan.
The very first time I had this snack was when I was 4 or 5 years old.
The reason why known is the price.
Just 10 yen, you can get 10 Umaibou for $1.
Small kids can afford it, so the very first shopping from allowance is Umaibou for some people.

Texture is close to Cheetos, but there are lots of flavors.
They have 15 kinds of flavor as usual.

Flavors are:
From left top to right,
TonKatsu (Deep fried pork), Salami, Teriyaki burger, Salad, Shrimp-mayo, Cheese, Corn pottage, and Mentai
From left bottom to right,
Chicken curry, Beef tongue, Tako-Yaki, Natto, Sugar, Yakitori, Chocolate (and Seasonal)

Why Umaibou is so cheap?

According from their website,

“It isn’t something the parents handed over, but something you can choose for yourself.”
“More fun to buy 10 Umaibous than a 100 yen snack”
To make children happy for 10 yen. “
Umaibou that was born from such feeling remains 10 yen ($0.1-ish) for 39 years from launched.

Since there is a team that will put together a force for everyone’s smile, we’re working hard for stay 10 yen.

Premium Umaibou

Rich version of Umaibou, price is also expensive!!
Surprisingly, $0.2 !!!!!! lol

Flavors from left:
Stake, Mozzarella and Camembert cheese, and Mentaiko

They use more good quality ingredients for these.
According from Japanese lady who lives in Italy gave Premium Umaibou which was Mozzarella and Camembert cheese flavor, Italian also liked it!! (She commented on my twitter post)
